The tribe’s account
Red Cliff’s official newsletter for October 27–November 2, 2025 reports that the Tribal Council voted 6–1 on October 20 to approve a Flock camera and plate-reader installation with the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Department for a one-year trial. It lists six council members in favor, one opposed and two excused. This is the tribe’s published account of its decision, rather than an inference from the sheriff’s later description. [1]
Planned installation and stated funding
The newsletter anticipated installation by mid-November and identified the annual Wisconsin County/Tribal Assistance Grant as a funding source. Those statements establish a plan and an attributed funding account, not completed installation or expenditure. Its assurances about federal access, immigration enforcement and system capabilities remain the publisher’s assertions. This account is based on the tribe’s newsletter, which is linked from its official newsletter archive; it does not establish the signed agreement’s terms, grant payments or trial results. [1] [2]
